The Many Disadvantages of America Online (AOL):
AOL is acceptable for first time computer users, children, and people who haven't comparison shopped for an online service.  Their marketing says they have email and they have instant messaging.  The truth is that EVERY online service gives you what AOL does.  It's like saying, "this car even comes with wheels."  It better!

The truth is you're paying far too much and getting far too little compared to their competition.  It's been our experience that when people learn the facts about AOL they want to leave, especially when made aware of many features AOL doesn't offer.   Our service will make it as easy as possible for you to leave AOL.  Here are some of the many reasons:

1) AOL is Extremely Expensive.  AOL is currently $23.95/mo, our service is $20.00.  You'll save $47.40/yr!

2) AOL has relentless advertising.  Every time you log on you are presented with a product to purchase, then frequently during your session.  The advertising is often animated (in motion) which is very distracting.

3) AOL is a very slow service, we're more than 100% faster, based on benchmark tests (results available).  Try us and see for yourself for free while you keep AOL.  If you don't see how much faster our service is, stick with AOL.

4) AOL has few useful email addresses left.  Do you really want your email address to be sue599871?  See if you can get your choice.  With our service, even many single letters are available!  We offer email addresses where YOU get to choose your domain (the part after the @ symbol) so you don't have to advertise AOL ever again.  You can even keep your email address if you leave our service.  Let's see AOL offer you that!  They won't even forward your email.

6) AOL is often difficult to connect to.  This depends on your location and time of day but has been a complaint by users for years.

7) AOL disconnects you EVERY 15mins if you don't keep answering that you want to stay connected.   We ENCOURAGE you to stay connected for as long as you like!

b)  AOL doesn't allow you to access their service on several computers simultaneously.  AOL only allows one connection at a time.  Imagine how much this feature will save you in time and money and how significantly this will benefit your family!

c)  AOL doesn't offer you the ability to get your email by phone, having it read to you via a toll free number (you don't even need a computer).

d)  AOL doesn't let you reply to your email by phone.  With our service you can call a toll free number and speak your message.  Your recipient gets it as regular email and they HEAR YOUR MESSAGE in YOUR  voice.  All you need is a phone!

e)  AOL doesn't offer you faxing by web.   With our service you can send and receive faxes via email FOR FREE.   You don't need an extra phone line or fax machine or scanner, just what you already have.  Imagine how much you'll save if you can cancel a phone line!!!

f)  AOL doesn't have a feature to send your own voice recordings as email to anyone - no special software required and no extra charge.  We will show you how to use the software and equipment you already have to do this.

g)  AOL doesn't offer long distance phone calls for FREE to a TELEPHONE.  Call anywhere in the US to any phone number FOR FREE.

h)  AOL doesn't let you read your email on your mobile phone.  Imagine reading your email in your car on your mobile phone.  No computer required.  Get  beeped when email arrives and read it anywhere.
Note - This service must also be supported by your mobile phone provider.

i)  AOL doesn't let you send and receive your email on your Palm or PocketPC computer unless you purchase separate software.  You'll have no trouble using your palmtop computer with our service.
Note - This assumes you own a Palm or PocketPC computer, but if you don't please contact us about this.  For as little as $100 you can have a computer in your pocket with the ability to do email, web browse, recognize your handwriting, interface with your computer, and even beam data through the air!!!

j) AOL's email program doesn't offer sending and receiving web pages by email - wait 'till you try this.  When you leave AOL you won't have to send web addresses (links) to people anymore.  You'll be able to send the entire web page - even design your own and email them!

k) AOL doesn't allow you to send messages without sending the recipients info (called BCC or Blind Carbon Copy).  This violates people's privacy when you send email to more than one person.  Our service allows you the ability to protect the privacy of your recipients.  We STRONGLY SUGGEST you have this feature especially if you run a business.

l) AOL doesn't support email addresses in groups or lists.  This is a feature you'll LOVE when you leave AOL.

m) AOL won't forward your email to another address (if you cancel their service, you lose your email address - we would NEVER do that to you).

n) AOL doesn't let you use backgrounds or any web editing features like sound effects in your email.  The feature AOL doesn't have is called Stationery.  It allows you to make templates for repetitive messages.  These can be fully graphical and animated.   There's no such ability in AOL software.

o) Vacation Message - Let's say you're on holiday for 2 weeks.  What happens to your email while you're away?  It sits there and your senders think you didn't get their messages or worse, that you're not replying.

With our service YOU can write your own message which will be automatically and immediately sent to everyone who emails you.  You can tell them that you'll get their email when you return, where you are, how to reach you, when you'll be back, and anything else you'd like to write.  It even keeps a record of the email addresses of your senders so you can be sure to get back to everyone when you return.

p) Auto Responses - Excellent for businesses - This allows you to have an immediate reply sent to every sender with a custom message of your design.  It can be used to notify your clients about specials or features of your company, any promotion you want!  

q)  AOL email has been clocked as taking as long as 12 HOURS to be delivered (source - www.jdate.com).  Why would anyone put up with that?  Our email is delivered instantly and you can even get a return receipt if you want proof.

9) AOL tech support is difficult to get on the phone (we've heard of hold times of 1hr 45mins, we NEVER place you on hold)

10) AOL software takes up 30mbs on your hard drive, has no drag and drop, no schedulable offline browsing, no automatic addressing, no linking to your computer or network for file management, you can't define buttons, and it's very slow.

11) AOL users get lots of unsolicited email.  We would never sell your personal information.  If you do get spam (email you don't want) we can show you how to block such messages.

12) AOL is usually rated the lowest Internet Service Provider in terms of price, quality, and tech support compared with other ISPs in computer magazine reviews.  People who know what's out there rarely use AOL.  It's too restrictive and offers too little compared with direct providers, which are almost always less money and faster.

13) AOL doesn't reward you for referring your friends.  Get a check for $20.00 from us for every referral.  
ADDENDUM - We were told by an AOL representative that AOL does offer referral incentives periodically.  Please check with AOL to find out what their current policy is.  When we asked the AOL representative to supply us with the terms of their policy (we asked twice) they never sent it.

14) AOL keeps sending you updates.  Many people find this very annoying and can't turn it off.

15) AOL will NOT forward your email.  When you try to cancel their service, they won't allow your email to follow you, nor may you export your AddrBk or Favorites or Messages.   This is done purposely to LOCK YOU into their service.  We'll forward at no charge when/if you leave our service.  That's a promise!

16) AOL will NOT export your Address Book.  When you try to cancel their service, they won't allow your keep  your Address Book or export it to a competitor's program.   This is done purposely to LOCK YOU into their service.  You can import and export and use any program you want with our service.  That's a promise!

17) AOL will NOT export your Favorites.  All that time you've spent finding the best websites and AOL won't allow you to export them to a competitor's program.   This is done purposely to LOCK YOU into their service.  No such problems with our service.  That's a promise!

18) AOL will NOT export your Messages.  You might have years of saved messages.  You don't want to lose them.  But AOL won't allow you to export them to a competitor's program.   This is done purposely to LOCK YOU into their service.  You can use any program you want with our service and your messages will be yours for as long as you want them.  That's a promise!

19)  AOL doesn't have special request TIPS.  We offer our clients, and anyone who visits our website and requests it, FREE email Tips.  We don't wait for you to contact us with questions.  We notify YOU of free services, interesting new products, money-making ideas, money-saving suggestions, etc.  We've found so much on the Internet that we know our clients may never find - so we come to you and keep you informed.

20)  Internet Call Waiting.  For those of you with one phone line, we can show you how to receive voice messages from your callers WHILE ON THE INTERNET and FREE!  Now your callers won't get a busy signal.  Now they won't get voicemail with no way for you to know there's a message.

With this FREE service you can see the phone numbers of your callers AND listen to their messages while on the Internet.  Then you can disconnect if you want to call them back or wait until you finish your session.  NO more guessing if people are trying to reach you and NO more annoying your friends with busy signals.  NO more paying your phone company $8.50/mo for voicemail which can't even notify you of your calls when you're online!!  Think how much this will save you in money and aggravation!

21)  Using their email address shows you don't know any better.  When you give out your AOL email address you are telling everyone you're using AOL (since they don't let you use any other address than AOL.com).  Especially for businesses this is foolish.  Not only are you advertising them WHEN YOU SHOULD BE ADVERTISING YOUR OWN BUSINESS, but you're telling the world that you don't know any better.  It would be as if you had a sign on a cheap old car that said, "I paid $100,000 for this car AND I bought it from AOL!!!"

22)  Attachments.  Though AOL advertises that they're easy to use, try receiving attachments.  If you have, you already know what we mean.  See for yourself if you think this feature is easy.  With our service, you can send pictures and sounds RIGHT INSIDE YOUR EMAIL without using attachments at all.  Nothing can be easier than this.

Advantages of AOL:

1) Everybody's heard of AOL.  Big Deal.  That's also a disadvantage because people who know about computers will cringe when you tell them you're still using AOL.  Anyone running a business should especially be aware of it's shortcomings.  You should promote your own business not theirs.

2) Their name is short.   We offer a choice of 50 domains including one which is even shorter than aol.com.   They offer NO choice.  This forces you to advertise their company every time you give out your email address.  They should PAY YOU for this, not the other way around.

3) AOL has a popular sound effect when you receive new email.  With our service you can have the exact same sound effect, or any other sound there is, including recordings of your own!  Have your dog bark when email arrives.  Let us show you how!

4) AOL offers you a free month.  Almost every service does this.  We'll give you up to 3 months free (see offer at the top of this page).
